Overview

Building on its expertise as the world’s leading producer of high-speed, multiple-slide die casting machines, Techmire has introduced the 66 NTX model, featuring two-slide toggle mechanisms mounted on the right and left sides of the crosshead.

The crosshead, which holds the complete mold, can accommodate two die segments and sliding shanks measuring 160 mm x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 inches), along with up to four additional hydraulic functions for driving cores in and out of the cavity.

The toggle cylinder that drives the slide can be either direct acting or an adjustable end-stroke cylinder, improving machine speed by 10%. Smaller cylinders may also be utilized to drive different features in and out, as well as to lubricate the mold cavity.

The NTX version includes a stronger double-hinge yoke in the toggle system, enhanced with additional links and improved guidance. This design evenly distributes pressure on the internal pins during locking, reducing strain on the bushings.

The 66 NTX toggle clamping system, with six tie bars per toggle, provides a clamping force of 33 tons (30 metric tons) between the die halves. The force applied by the toggle bracket centers the holding force on the die halves.

The 66 NTX offers higher productivity through the advantages of a two-slide locking system and multiple hydraulic functions, utilizing parting-line injection technology. Cores can be pulled at any angle or direction, enabling complex die castings while keeping tooling costs low.

This machine features a die size ideal for producing zinc components that weigh from a few grams up to 327 grams (11.5 oz) with tight tolerances and fast cycle speeds.

Techmire’s NTX line of multiple-slide, hot-chamber machines are capable of economically producing complex zinc and lead parts. These machines operate fully automatically to ensure maximum repeatability and reliability. They use parting-line injection to enhance the shot-to-part weight ratio by eliminating the sprue and reducing the runner system, resulting in more efficient production. This leads to savings in raw materials, lower energy costs, the elimination of secondary trimming operations, and faster cycle speeds.
